Mission

The professional school social work team at KulturLeben Dresden UG considers school social work as an effective connection between school, youth welfare and the living world of young people.

We pursue the goal of supporting young people in their independent appropriation of themselves and the world - in line with our educational concept.

Our work is characterized by a humanistic world view that understands diversity as a strength and actively promotes the social participation of all young people.

We want to empower them to think and act reflectively. This is the only way to achieve genuine participation in society.

We believe that strong work with parents and good cooperative relationships with teachers are essential for a sustainable impact.

Under our guiding principles "Respect and curiosity" and “Show attitude - be a role model”, we combine our socio-educational approach with our daily actions. We treat young people as equals, with openness and recognition for their life situations. We promote self-efficacy and social skills, tackle the challenges of everyday (school) life, strengthen social interaction and secure growing up more.

Respect forms the basis of every relationship - both in the work with students and their parents, as well as in the team and in the cooperation with teachers and external partners.

Curiosity is the key to exploring the realities of young people's lives, discovering their potential and supporting them in their personal development.

For us, taking a stand means taking a clear stance against discrimination, exclusion and violence- while remaining open to dialog and solution-oriented.

Finally, being a role model means providing guidance through authentic, reflective action and actively helping to shape social learning processes.
